Finnian O’Neill is the Chief Investment Officer at ABL Aviation. His primary responsibilities include developing pricing models and delivering investment recommendations to the company’s investors. He assesses the creditworthiness of lessees and evaluates the risk and return profiles of investment opportunities. Additionally, Finnian is crucial in building and maintaining relationships with lenders worldwide.

Finnian started his career as an investment actuary at Willis Towers Watson in London, advising clients on fixed-income investments and risk management strategies. His work included leading multi-year hedging programmes, managing financial instruments like interest rates and hedges, and selling illiquid inflation-linked corporate bond portfolios.

Before joining ABL Aviation, Finnian was the Head of Analytics at Stellwagen Technology, where he led a team of quantitative finance experts, web developers, and designers in developing pricing and investment management software. Earlier, as Managing Director at Stellwagen Finance, he worked with lessor and airline clients to create and implement innovative financing solutions. He has successfully raised capital from senior and junior lenders in the capital markets and banking sectors. Finnian’s achievements have led to recognition, including being named in the Airline Economics ‘Top 40 under 40’ list. He is a qualified actuary and holds the prestigious CFA charterholder designation.

Finnian graduated with First-Class Honours from University College Dublin, where he studied Actuarial and Financial Studies.
