Donal O’Shea joins ABL Aviation as Chief Technical Officer, based in the Dublin office.
O’Shea brings with him over 25 years of experience in the airline, airworthiness, and aircraft leasing sectors, making him an expert in technical asset management and aviation operations.
Prior to joining ABL Aviation, O’Shea served as Head of Engineering & Asset Management at Avolon, where he held responsibility for a fleet of approximately 550 aircraft leased to 141 airlines globally. His responsibilities included large-scale program management, aircraft trading, repossessions, and strategic asset management.
O’Shea began his career as an Aircraft Engineer with Ryanair, later progressing to Cityjet (then an Air France subsidiary), where he spent 11 years in senior roles in both Line and Base Maintenance. He subsequently joined CAE Parc Aviation as Continuing Airworthiness Manager, gaining broad experience in aircraft transitions and working with airlines and regulators to move aircraft across regions. Before joining ABL Aviation, he also held the role of Head of Asset Management at Santos Dumont, where he further honed his expertise in global technical operations.
His leadership will be pivotal in scaling ABL Aviation’s technical capabilities, ensuring the firm continues to deliver excellence and innovation in aircraft leasing and asset management.
