Joey Zhao Has Been Appointed as Head of Asia-Pacific, Ex-Japan in ABL Aviation’s Hong Kong Office

June 2023 – Joey Zhao Has Been Appointed as Head of Asia-Pacific, ex-Japan, in ABL Aviation’s Hong Kong Office.

ABL Aviation, a global independent aircraft investment management firm, has expanded its international team with the appointment of Joey Zhao as Head of Asia-Pacific, ex-Japan, in Hong Kong. Before joining ABL Aviation, Joey worked at Bocomm Aviation Leasing Ireland as the Head of Commercial, leading all airline relationships and origination efforts in the EMEA and Americas regions.

Joey started his career as an HQ management trainee at the Bank of Communications Group, one of the largest banks in Asia. In this position, Joey developed a broad knowledge of commercial banking through the Greater China and Hong Kong rotation programme.

Joey was named and was educated in mainland China, Hong Kong, Japan, and Ireland. In his new role as Head of Asia-Pacific, ex-Japan, Joey will strengthen ABL Aviation’s commercial leadership team as the company grows its strategic presence in key global markets. The appointment follows the recent addition of Umid Sharipov as Managing Director, Relationship Management, in Tokyo.
